Collection: WORK OF THE CITY

"WORK OF THE CITY" is a thought experiment open to interpretation. Let's imagine that the city were a thinking, feeling, and acting being. Would it want to communicate with us to share its state of mind? And if so, how? With us and through us? And would we even be receptive to its messages?

Consider the seemingly increasing number of permanent construction sites whose sole purpose seems to be to restrict our freedom of movement and make our lives more difficult. Is this the intention? Is it a predilection for BDSM? Or is it a warning sign that we're about to cross a line?

Or the ever-increasing level of littering in public spaces, perceived by many. Is the city perhaps a mess? Or is it a cry for help to take better care of it?

What about destruction in the form of vandalism and arson, for example? Does destruction really get them excited? Or is it a more drastic attempt to tell us something?

Or is the city an artist who loves to shape the world—of which we are a part? Like a director directing us through her body, following a specific idea. A scenographer engaged in the implementation of a concept whose content remains unknown to us? An author whose writing encompasses time and space and inscribes a specific narrative into our lives. So, are we all ultimately a "WORK OF THE CITY" ourselves?
